Our Menu
At our Restaurant O Ermita, located in what used to be the Bishop’s Chapel, enjoy some of our delicious specialties: Sopa de Cação, Borreguinhos em Azeite, “Poejada” de Bacalhau, Migas de Espargos (neither the names nor the flavours and aromas can be translated into words – you have to taste them to understand), complemented by a careful choice of some of best Alentejo wines and the wonders of our traditional “conventual” and typical desserts. In some hot summer nights, you may wish to enjoy a delicious meal outside, in the Esplanada do Ermita, while listening to live music.
Wines
To accompany our local gastronomy, full of rich flavours, enjoy the excellent wines of the Alentejo region, all carefully selected.
The Hotel is located in a viticulture area and local wine producers and wineries (in Borba, Redondo, Reguengos de Monsaraz and Estremoz) allow visits to these properties and in some of them you may even have the opportunity to taste the unmatched aromas of their wines.
COOKING COURSES
If you love cooking and are eager to learn more about local and typical dishes, we offer you the chance to have fun while learning how to cook some of our recipes. Maybe our Chef will let you in some of the secrets that make our conventual desserts so special! Each cooking lesson is both a cultural and gastronomic experience, allowing you to get a closer feel of the traditions and flavours of the Alentejo.
